Are you one of those who is so embarrassed or guilty with
the foods that you mercilessly ate during the holidays? How about the work out
days you have skipped because you partied the night out? Well, if you think
that starvation and intense workouts would help you lose those excess pounds,
then think again. Doing so would just make you gain weight even more in the
long run and would implicate your health. Better heed the following tips for a
healthier approach to your weight loss goal.
1.Be Specific in Your Goals.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. You enjoyed the parties you
attended as well as the eating included. There’s no sense being so mean to
yourself to the lengths of starving. If you intend to get back in shape, it is
best to set realistic and specific goals. This will help you see better
results. You can set monthly goals such trying new workout routine in January
and follow new diet in February. You can make March as your month to learn new
healthy recipes. This will excite and motivate you, especially that you are
reaching your goals. If you are leaving in a rental house, you can ask your
roommate to join you with your goals. This will surely be a good source of
motivation.
2.Don’t get obsessed with Number.
Don’t make numbers such a great deal that it interferes with
your daily weight. Okay, you gained 10 pounds. You can lose just that or more.
You can weigh yourself at least once a month then weighs again a month after.
This way, you will not get frustrated whether your weight loss attempts really
deliver results or not. When it comes to getting your body measurements, it
will help if you try measuring yourself at least every other week.
3.Don’t Fall on Top Rated Diets.
Sure, these diets are known to lose weight fast but the
truth is, these diets are not one size fits all. There are diets specifically
made for people who have existing health conditions. Choose diets that would
make you healthy, not just lose weight. Just because your friend has lost
weight following Paleo Diet doesn’t mean that you would also reap the same
results too. You can ask your doctor or nutritionist for diets that are
suitable for you.
4.Get Active.
Diet alone will not help you achieve your weight loss goals,
you should also need to be active. If you are leading a sedentary lifestyle,
you should need to make your limbs work. Allow at least 30 minutes of your day
to do some physical work such as strolling, walking or jogging. You can ask
your family member or friends to walk with you. Furthermore, you can enroll in
a dance class or sign in for a gym membership. By having a trainer, your weight
loss aim will be guided and looked over.
5.Discipline yourself.
How many times have you relapsed in the midst of your weight
loss goal? You should get a grip and learn to discipline yourself. Learn to
follow workout schedules and do everything in moderation. You can have a cheat
day but make sure that you can compensate it.
